As Insights West’s Senior Data Analyst, Chang is responsible for all aspects related to research data, including data collection, quality control, and analysis using statistical and visualization tools. In acting as our lead analyst for several years, Chang has gained exposure to a variety of projects—becoming highly adept at analyzing complex survey data that includes multiple subgroups, various methodologies, and detailed weighting schemes.
Fluent in Chinese and English, Chang also holds the role of Chinese Research Specialist and serves as the point person for all Chinese projects, research participants, and clients. With prior experience translating for a multinational corporation, and an intensive course in moderating under her belt, Chang also moderates Chinese-language focus groups, and is capable of translating discussions and interviews in real time for clients as well as providing detailed reports.
Chang is highly motivated with strong marketing research expertise and cultural insights! Prior to joining Insights West, she worked as a Program Analyst at SFU Public Square and helped to facilitate many productive dialogues of public concern. Chang has also worked for organizations in the States and China, which range from Walt Disney World in Orlando to local businesses in her hometown. With a B.A. in English and International Marketing from Dalian University of Foreign Languages in China, and an M.B.A. from Simon Fraser University, Chang is well equipped with the skills needed to thrive in her role.
After coming to Canada to study six years ago, (no surprise) Chang fell in love with this great country. She enjoys her new life here in a variety of ways: learning and exploring new places and things, reading, travelling, and sports.
